Synapse Design Studio 2008

I have always had the dream of starting my own design studio. I worked for over 5 years as a freelancer. I've worked for one of the top design studios in the southeast, possibly the country (as an interface designer / developer). I have designed, developed, and dreamed big.

Now my dream is becoming a reality. I finally have the financial resources, connections, business knowledge, experience, and technical qualifications to start a design studio.

This logotype is by no means final, but is an initial mockup. I'll probably upload 5-10 more versions of it, and see what the community here on DA thinks. (Although I tend to think sometimes DA can be a trendwhoring popularity contest).

Any comments, critique, and favs are all appreciated and responded to.

Explanation:

Synapse refers to the coming together of two things. It is most commonly used to mean the gap between nerve cells where impulses are sent back and forth.

Synapse as a company will represent the coming together of innovative, advanced technologies with aesthetically appealing, sleek, sexy designs. It is about bridging the gap that exists between design and development.

Updated with the actual logo next to the type. Some of you may think this logo is too simplistic, or maybe you don't see the meaning behind it. The concept is that two nerve cells fit together, side by side, and in this instance, it forms the letter 'S' in the in-between space. Synapse by definition is the space between the two neurons.

Thanks to those who commented with encouragement and concepts. (Kip, I just realized how close this came out to your suggestion mate. I had this working for like two days then read your comment just a second ago again. I guess great minds truly do think alike. Thanks. =] )
